Actually Jon, there are 256 Factory presets/2 banks in rom on the Card
and a further 128 User preset voices where the user can upload his/her
own sounds via midi files or AN-edit.
To access these voices you need to send the correct Bank MSB, LSB and
PRG to the card.
Or you can load the 'Factory presets' into AN-edit and access them from
there. I prefer to upload sounds to the card, then access them via bank
msb/lsb, PRG from inside VST myself, But I haven't used Xg-works, so I'm
not sure if that's possible.
