Subject: RE: [AN1x-list] Re: Pitch bend from a pedal

Hi Ed/Jerry

Suggested method (1) will be almost impossible to use ...I have never come
across a pedal that has a centre position (but maybe I haven't been looking
too hard). Also assigning a controller to VCO1/VCO2 pitch in control Matrix
is not valid (according to the An1x specs! Although you can directly assign
the Foot Control to change either VCO1 or VCO2 tune via the system setup)

Method 2 is the only practical way to achieve the result (i.e. assign a
controller to perform Pitch up or Pitch down)...but as Jerry points out.....
you can only have unidirectional bend :-(

>>MIDI controller #96 is the default midi controller for pitch bend.

Nope ...#96 is data increment. Pitch bend is not a CC it has its own message
status type (Ex) and is followed by a 14bit MSB/LSB value.

If you can't live with unidirectional Pitch bend, then the only answer is to
use some external software to map your foot controller to pitch bend
messages.

Regarding Jerry's question about configuring the controller change mode of
the An1x...refer to page 96 of the manual. Basically turn off the power,
then power on whilst holding ASSIGN. The LCD should show the mode being
activated (i.e. mode 1 or mode2).

Regards
