I feel I owe you an apology. Ed's answer is absolutely the correct one

I was lazy and just kind of glanced at your question. Thought you were
asking for a comparison between the size of each file type, i.e., .an1 /
.syx / .mid, uncompressed and uncompressed - not a simple
compressed/uncompressed a/b comparison. I read too much into your
question. Sorry. I'll pay more attention next time :-)
