All,
I followed Jon's method of inquiring about the update, and my experience
was an exact mirror of that case, with the exception of an email, rather
than phone, response from the Yamaha tech.
3/7/01 -- I filled out the online form at the Yamaha Support site.
3/8/01 -- I received the email telling me about the support database, and
informing me that I had three years of available support. I replied to
the email with the additional information, and reiterated my request for
v1.04. (Actually, except for the date of purchase and the store name,
everything I provided could be found in the first [online] request!)
3/9/01 (AM) -- I received a second email from Yamaha with a case number,
and was told that a tech would contact me "as soon as possible."
3/9/01 (PM) -- I received a third email, saying that v1.04 had been ordered
for me. :^)
Other than the amusing/annoying part of having to send most of the same
information twice -- once online, and the second time in the reply to the
first email -- it all went smoothly.
