Hi Jordi,
My recommendation for XGedit+An1xEdit+Sequencer and SW1000XG is to route
XGedit via your sequencer using Hubis and to direct An1xEdit straight to the
SW1000XG #1 Synth port (note the SW drivers are dual client capable on
output...so both your sequencer and An1xEdit will be able to access the
port).
e.g.
An1xEdit:
In=NONE
Out=SW#1 Synth
XGedit:
In=NONE
OutA=LB1
OutB=LB2
Cakewalk:
In=SW MIDI IN, LB1, LB2
Out=SW#1 Synth,SW#2 Synth, SW MIDI OUT
In Cakewalk options ensure that MIDI thru is enabled and that the echo sysex
function is on.
Note I do not recommend thruing AN sysex via a sequencer since the messages
can be very large. However you can record them if you like using an
alternate setup (Note: this setup must be used if you are using VST5 since
then there appears to be a problem with its MIDI thru for all sysex).
In this case setup as
XGedit:
In=NONE
OutA=LB1
OutB=SW1000#2 Synth
AN1xEdit:
In=NONE
Out=LB1
Run a copy of Hubi Hwmdcable.exe:
In=LB1
Out=SW1000#1 Synth
(this connects both An1xEdit and XGedit outputs to the SW1000#1 Synth port)
Now Setup your sequencers ports:
Inputs:
SW1000 MIDI IN - enable
LB1 - Enable
Outputs:
SW1000#1 Synth - enable
SW1000#2 Synth - enable
SW1000 MIDI OUT - enable
[Note make sure you never enable a Hubi for both input and output...or you
can end up with a MIDI loop]
In your sequencers options you can set MIDI thru active. However you should
disable sysex thru (turn off echo sysex in Cakewalk or filter sysex thru in
VST)
This way you will be able to record the sysex from both XGedit and
An1xEdit....but the thru function to the MIDI port will be provided by the
Hubi Hwmdcable.
Using these setups you will notice that only two applications are talking
directly to any one of the SW1000 output ports...so everything should be
fine (if you get 'Device already in use' messages, make sure you have the
latest multi client SW drivers from the Yamaha support site
http://www.xgfactory.com)
Also note that the An1xEdit must be running in PLG150AN mode (select from
its Setup menu). The PART dial (just above the on screen keyboard)
determines which XG part is replaced (default is part 1). The CH dial
determines which MIDI channel is used (default is 1). The BOARD and DEVICE
dials should both be set to 1 for the SW1000 as a host.
IF you need to refresh your setup, always perform a refresh synth from
XGedit first (from the Utils menu) then perform a refresh synth from the
An1xEdit menu (Utils menu). This ensures that the XG parts are configured
before the PLG150AN information is sent.
Regards
Gary

Subject: [AN1x-list] sw1000xg + PLG + XGEDIT+cake + xgworks .... what a
mess!!!
Hi there !!
I've in a really mess... I've on my computer sblive + ews64 + plg150
+ sw1000xg + MicrowavePC. All synths are configured independant on a
dedicated IRQ and so on. In fact, I can access to one of them without
problems, but...
I wish to use cake 9.01 like sequencer, and via Hubi's loopback
control the xgedit and xgworks (for using the plg-150AN). The
sw1000xg has the latest firmware and is ok for using with the module.
But I cannot configure the Hubi's and so on.
What must be the right sequence for using all my hardware???. I can
access without problems to my ews64+MicrowavePC, but I'm in a really
mess in how to manage the sw1000xg with my plg via Hubi's. I've read
that I must use the xgworks for using the advanced anx editor.. But
my system hangs when I launch the xgedit
Is there anybody out there using the sw1000xg + PlG + cake via
Hubi's?????
Please, tell me anything about it !!!
Thanks in advance...
Jordi Mayor Gisbert.
