I've had my AN1x v1.02 for nearly two years now with no sign of any
significant bugs - not even a battery low warning ;-) There are a
couple of design "limitations" (IMHO) I'd change but those don't
qualify as bugs. And half of the changes I'd want would have driven
up the MSRP so it's trade off :-/
The ∗only∗ problem I've had - and it was repaired by Yamaha under
warranty - was that nasty 'popping' and 'clicking' sound at power-up
that affected so many AN1x's back then (24+ months ago.) Being a
hardware issue that problem probably would have only grown worse over
time.
Let's face it, the AN1x is relatively bug free (OS problems.) I don't
worry much about the OS ROM upgrade but if it's a nagging concern for
you - call or email Yamaha and solicit the EPROM chip (just as Ed
did.) At least you'll have peace of mind that you're on the current
version. :-)
