I've addressed the aftertouch issue here before, with the comment that the
aftertouch function is too sensetive on the AN1x. (but that's another issue)
Try using the control matrix to open up the filter using aftertouch, or
increasing lfo depth, panning depth, feedback, etc. It's another real-time
control that's very common in modern synths and most keyboards can make good
use of it.
