If you want or need to upgrade your OS it is "burned" in an EEPROM inside. It cannot be changed without erasing and re writing the EEPROM with a dedicated hardware programmer, so you have to buy one with the "right" OS either on E-Bay or similar second hand website (be careful...) or by Yamaha service. The AN1x being "old" it could be long, but you're sure thet 1) it works and 2) it is the right one...CheersJ.F.
