Subject: Freezing AN1x upon using matrix edit

From: Bruno <brunorc@...>

Hi folks,

I discovered a strange behaviour in my AN1x - as soon as I enter the matrix edit mode AND change any parameter, the sound generator freezes: if there are any notes on, they become stuck until I change the preset, otherwise it remains silent, so I have to power cycle it. Other than that the instrument is "fully functional" - I can use all the knobs and switches, except it won't make any sound. This doesn't happen when I use the eight knobs - I can tweak them to death and the instrument works as expected. It's very annoying, since it makes it impossible to adjust any arp/step seq related parameters while being able to hear the results.

Anyone has any ideas? There's no warning about the battery, I'm using the original power adapter and cannot think of anything else.

Update: just to be sure it's not related to MIDI related issues, I unplugged the cable from MIDI OUT and... voila! - it works. However, it's not any kind of loopback, which I checked in the following way:
 - turning the AN1x on
 - checking that it reacts to the notes played on keyboard - OK
 - unplugging MIDI OUT cable (to avoid freezing in the next step)
 - setting Utility/Local to "off"
 - plugging the MIDI OUT cable back
 - checking that it reacts to the notes played on keyboard - silence (thus no loopback)
 - unplugging MIDI OUT cable (to avoid freezing in the next step)
 - setting Local to "on"
 - checking that it reacts to the notes played on keyboard - OK

Thanks in advance for any hints, spiritual support, jokes and statements about the superiority of software synths ;-)
