Subject: AN1x main output L/R problem

From: mekozbekoz@...

Hi all,

I've just got my hands on this wonderful synth and i think it sounds fantastic for its age, im really impressed! I have noticed a few problems with it though.

1) 4 of the rotary pots need replacing, they work but feel like there's no lubrication, metal against metal. (Have only found replacements in the USA?)

2) Battery low, needs replacing. (FDK CR2450y)

3)  The main output L/R. This is what im most concerned about, when the volume is around 65% or more there is what sounds like a little distortion and low background noise. This is not the case with the headphone output even with the volume at 100% it sounds fantasic.

Im hoping someone could give me some advice as to what might be the problem with the main output, could it be the low battery? I don't think this is the case though as surely the headphone output would be the same?

I have taken the AN1x apart and have given it a good clean also removed the small circuit board and reseated it again. I'm wondering if i should just take it back but i would be really sad to see it go! =(

Just out of intrest i payed £260, it has a few little marks but overall looks pretty good for 17 years old.

Thanks

Tony
