Subject: Re: [AN1x] Unable to use device with usb to midi

I'm no MIDI expert by any stretch but just an off-beat idea here...

Seeing that the An1x was made during the time when Windows 2000 and XP were the current MS operating systems, perhaps you need an XP computer for the MIDI interface to work?

I've read on other posts that discontinued synths work with operating systems of that era. I've also read that VISTA doesn't work all that good with other outside devices (but have no personal experience here).

Again, just an idea to consider.

Best of luck...Let us know how things turn out.

Subject: [AN1x] Unable to use device with usb to midi

Hey, all.

I recently picked up a very cheap usb-to-midi cable online to use an1x editor. Now, the device will not communicate with the system. In the editor, i am able to select in and out ports, listed as USB2.0-MIDI, but when trying to send or request data, I just get a message box with "Receive Error!"

I have tried installing the official Yamaha USB-MIDI drivers for my 64-bit version of Windows Vista, but even when following the setup walkthrough, I get an error 25001, telling me no device is connected.

Is the inexpensive cable unlikely to work or has anyone had success with one of these?

Thank you for any help.
