Hi,

The problem with the AN1x display is that it's a custom one, so couldn't be replaced by a generic display.

Re the SY77 (and TG77 and SY99) the backlight failure is a common problem. I've owned all three SY/TG variants and they have all had the same problem. Fortunatley, there is a fix available for those who can do some electronics (or know somebody who can).

Have a look at the fix in the following link for the TG77. I've also done this upgrade on an SY99, and previously I have also repaired an SY77 with a slightly order (now out of production display). SY77's look so much nicer in blue!
