I guess it's a backup battery issue : change it. When it hangs up in the
boot process hit the "-" key and normally it would start. I've had a
similar problèm with mine, caused by a flat out battery. The repair is
easy by any electronics DIYer, or cheap by Yamaha service.
The power source is out of cause if it has the good voltage and current
ratings, your AN1x does not know where the current comes from.: if it's
enough, it's OK. The real voltage regulation business is inside the AN1x.
