Subject: heidelberg File (and FM)

Hi Guys
I merged the work i did last years in a single file and named it
heidelberg.an1. (Heidelberg has a very good hospital.)
To avoid chaos every theme has a number.
Eg:
1-9=Free for performance ...17,18,19=Organ
2x = D50 Pads
3x = Mellotrons
4x = Brass
5x = Vocals
6x = Pianos
7x= String + Orchestral
90-103 = Famous Sequenzes + Drums
I deleted the older files only keeping the drum and base workshop. Hmmm is
it too complicated ?
One trick is to use Pitch Envelope via Pulse Width as an additional
polyphonic amp EG. Choose Waveform Pulse and
PW=0 to hear the basic of the trick :-).
FM:
There was a question how to use FM traditional. Choose "Only FM". And you
will especially hear, that FM cant be played
tuned in most cases. There are no rules for some exceptions I used eg in the
tuned vibraphone Sound (12), Spectrum3 (127)
FM Depth = +39 and detuning +3, +19. sounds like a bell using only FM.
How did the Famous DX7 avoid detuning ?
Easy answer. This Synthies didnt use a real FM.
But there are a lot of tuned An1X "FM Sounds". An1x is using a great trick.
Additional using Sync Modulation to force the
FM detuned sound the right tuning of the master but keeping FM overtones.
Thats really great ! There are two ways to use this
tuned FM. Just compare the easyPiano (15) and Fende_r (16) sound in my
heidelberg File. Detuning VCO2 will produce a deep FM
very close to a DX7 or Fender Rhodes. Detuning VCO1 will produce an FM that
ca be mixed to the traditional Waveforms of VCO2.
Best regards
