If you search the earlier posts on the board, then this was discussed three or four weeks back, and some people have had some success running AN1xEdit on Win 7.
You could also use a standard utility like MIDIOX to capture a SYSEX dump from the AN1x. In fact if your battery is low, I'd do this ASAP before anything else. Just in case the battery goes whilst you're investigating getting AN1xEdit working
You can also try out my an.factory librarian, which can be found at www.xfactory-librarians.co.uk. It doesn't support editing (yet) though, but meets all of my needs for patch management.
