Have you tried running the program in a compatibility mode for an earlier version of windows?
Note as well that, whilst this doesn't affect my AN1x, I have a problem with receiving SYSEX data from a Yamaha EX5 on Windows 7, which doesn't exist on earlier versions of Windows, so maybe there are other problems. I couldn't believe it when I diagnosed the EX5/Windows 7 issue. Definitely a backwards has been taken somewhere by Mr Gates. See this post for the issue I found

Are you using a good interface or one of these cheap "usb leads" which seem to be quite hit and miss. Some people have no problems with them, but some of them have pretty small buffers that can't cope with the burst of sysex data.
If you can't get AN1xEdit going, you could do a manual dump into a tool like MIDIOX - set its SYSEX display window to receive a dump, and on the AN1x manually initiate a bulk dump, and then save it.
Or you could check out my an.factory librarian at www.xfactory-librarians.co.uk - I have this working on Windows 7, and am currently looking at OSX Lion compatibility.
