The program keeps on freezing and i can't even kill the process.. i have to restart my computer. Also, sometimes when the patches do get sent to the AN1x, i lose all sound coming out of the synth and i have to restart it.

Hi !
it sounds like a USB - MIDI problem...
The AN1x editor can be awful with USB - MIDI devices, for some obscure
reason some devices work with AN1x edit and others not. Mine works
perfectly with XP SP2 (and now SP3) and an inexpensive Prodipe USB -
MIDI "converter" , let's say "cable" :

For the price it's worth a try....
I suppose that these issues are related to the USB - MIDI interface
drivers when required, i had some troubles with an old soundcard with a
MIDI port, unusable once AN1x edit installed on the PC. The Prodipe
cable does not need any driver... and it works.
Cheers.
