Hiya. new here, so be gentle!!
if your fast track is mono balanced input, then it takes one inphase signal from one of the 3 contacts (TRS jack or XLR?), and one anti phase signal from the other contact, & the 3rd contact is ground.
what it then does is invert the antiphase signal, and summ it with the inphase signal, boosting the music signal by 6dB, and cancelling all the picked up 'noise' out on the way.
If you feed it stereo signal instead of balanced signal (stereo trs jack?) then it'll take the right signal, invert it & add it to the left signal, cancelling everything that is mono, or centre panned.
ouch!
sounds like that's what you've done.
cheers.
