Subject: [AN1x] Ribbon Controller Problem

Follow-up to previous posts about AN1x ribbon controller: I pulled mine (simple mechanical process, remove 4 screws & unplug a flat cable) but couldn't make it work correctly. Apparently the previous owner pressed on it too hard with a fingernail. :-(

I called Yamaha parts dept and the correct part name is "Ribbon Sensor" and it's part #VY687100. The bad news is that it's no longer available from Yamaha, not even from Japan. :-( :-(

The synth works without it, and I can assign the function to a knob, but that'll take some effort and won't be as much fun. I taped a piece of cardboard over the ribbon "hole" to keep dust out.

So, if anyone's parting out a dead AN1x, I'll buy the ribbon sensor!
