No reason it does not work, if the battery is firmly hold in place and
the tape is not conductive... beware, these tapes can loose their
adhesive in time.

Nice idea, another member of the forum (?) had this idea some years ago,
because the plastic case of his beloved synth has cracked. Could you
post us some pictures when the job is over?
