Novation have a new synth, the Ultranova, coming out towards the end of this year. When it does I expect the prices of Novas and Supernovas will fall, so it might be worth waiting for a couple of months if you're thinking of getting one.

I have an AN1X, a Novation KS rack and an Akai Miniak. They are all decent synths for what I paid for them, but in terms of bang for buck I'd say the Miniak wins hands down, as they've been discontinued but you can still get them new for silly money. However, I'm guessing you want a synth with lots of knobs to twiddle?
