Your MacBook only runs Universal Binary or Intel only version of Mac OS X compatible software.
AN1xEdit and the other freeware editor/librarians were Carbon based application that would run only under Mac OS 9.2.2 (Classic), or earlier, on a PowerPC series Mac. Sorry.
The alternative is to run Boot Camp + Windows on your MacBook and use the Windows version of AN1xEdit or the others.
if you're just looking to dump SysEx to/from your MacBook use SysEx Librarian:
http://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/It's UB and will run on your MacBook. You can use it with any of the .MID or .SYX voice banks in the files section here at Yahoo! Groups. It will not work with the .AN1 files, but somebody can probably translate those easily enough to .SYX if needed.
