It can be done in any one of 3 ways:
(1) Adjust the amount of modulation the synthesizer used to generate the sound, applies to the parameter, usually in a modulation matrix where you selected to use after touch as the source of modulation.
(2) If you have a midi processor box, such as one inside the midi switch MX-8, you can take a midi parameter and scale it. Give less gain to after touch.
(3) Open the AN1x if you feel proficient to do so. On the keyboard circuit board, there are 2 small pots, one for after touch gain and one for the offset value once the AT kicks in. I adjusted mine for higher sensitivity because that's how I like it....
