That sounds right.

That also sounds right.

and then the an1x's Rx (receive?) Ch(annel) to 10 also, then

Local Off should be okay too. Why do you set the AN1x Receive Channel to
10? You're not controlling the AN1x from the TR707 are you?
Regardless, it's still a valid setup.

You're generating Sync from Cubase correct? The AN1x does NOT generate
any timing protocol such as MIDI Clock - it only responds to MIDI Clock.

Here's what I'd do: Take the PC out of the set-up for awhile. 1) Hook
the MIDI Out of your AN1x to the MIDI In of your 707; then hook the MIDI
Out of your 707 to the MIDI In of your AN1x. Set the AN1x to Transmit
Ch 10 - turn local off - and set the 707 to Receive on Channel 10.

Once that works I'd set the 707 to Transmit on Ch 10 and the AN1x to
Receive on Ch 10 (still with Local Off on the AN1x.) You should be able
to trigger the AN1x from the 707 and vice versa. Once you have this
simple set-up working THAN reintroduce Cubase. Again, if it were me,
I'd set-up the 707 to Rcv on Ch 10 and the AN1x on another Ch. With
Local Off on the AN1x, I'd use Cubase to select which Instrument will
receive the MIDI Output of your PC. With the 707 attached to your MIDI
Thru on the AN1x this should not be a problem.

BTW - Like is incomplete with a Multi-port MIDI Interface. Even a 2-in
2-out deal is nicer than a 1-in 1-out box. I'd suggest keeping your
eyes on the 2nd hand market for a deal. You will never regret it!
