Sorry to snicker at your difficulties, but I just have this image of you
wailing on that wheel so often that youve rubbed the ridges off of it.
Time to take the back off the unit and observe. Check connectivity first
a wire may have just come loose. If the potentiometer got really dirty, it
might not work. You can try spraying some cleaner (available cheap at
Radio Shack) into it. If the pot has totally died, its time to check with
Yamahaha.

My mod wheel died. I set the ribbon controller for vibrato for now.
