#1. im tryng to make a Novation Remote 61SL automap .syx for Yamaha PLG150-An but...,
have found a few big stones in the way.,
problems with Yamaha PLG150-An sysex code that values are not continious in some parameters,
not even or odd, not pair or inpair.
anyway...
ill keep on trying.
the novation remote sl is the bomb.

can you download ANExpertEditor for PLG150-An in yamahasynth.com
or XGWorks AN200 plugin,
and tell me exact diferences between both, to make a patch only usign those diferences.

the .mpc file needs www.ffdshow.info codec. or free vlc player.
was encoded --quality 9
from near 8mb .wav
sorry for the clipping, PLG150-An output was +12dB
was made with only the osc.2 first "were triangle is" rotating between Waveforms,
then with Edge90 and only the osc1 "where the Mlt.Saw is".
Without the Edge feature, Mlt.Saw would be verry borring.

harmonics, wave shape, filter cuttoff, filter resonance strengh, noise shape, jitter, etc..
Yamaha oscillators feel/looks like its "oscillating" like breathing alive, like some kind of freq.jitter!
The Yamaha oscillator jiter:
my guess is that it was designed to be similar to real oscillators that have tunning jitter with age & temperature.
V-Station & Steinberg.Waldorf A1 are Steady as possible.
B-station, has a jiter also breathing but in harmonics not in freq. or vol. like Yamaha.
the Yamaha PLG150-An Triangle Wave, looks "exactly" the same to V-Station, but...
Yamaha has and small visible freq. jitter and the others synths dont,
and they all are usign the Same Kenton Plugstation WordClock !!!!
plugstation WordClock sounds sweeter than RME hdsdp9632, but not as good as Lynx Aes16-xlr
= they should have same jitter!.
this only means to me, that Yamaha intentionally designed the oscillators to emulate real oscillators flaws,
thers no secret that real oscillators have an small inperfectons in tuning & vol. "jitter artifacts"
with age and temperature.
the Yamaha Mlt.Saw has some limitations:
sometimes does turn off itself when some Sync Osc1-Osc2 routings are active.
Mlt.Saw does sound with EDGE=0, the other Yamaha waveforms dont.
Yamaha Pulse does not work with Depth=0, same happens to Waldorf A1.
Yamaha Triangle can make some sounds with X-Mod
EDGE=127 is near 100% digital
Y.Triangle with PW=64, and EDGE=0 sounds makes a Sine wave
Saw Osc1 & Saw1&2 Osc2 look the same in a scopemeter but...
when you move PW from 64 to 0 or 127...,
Saw1&2vco2 with PW=64 its pure Saw,
Saw1osc2 if you move PW=0 or PW=127 Saw goes one octave-up, and -50% volumen
PW in between 0to63 or 65to127 mixes the two SAWs, the oct and the upper oct.
but...
Saw2vco2 with PW at full 0 or 127 does not jump to the upper octave,
its like Saw1vco2 PW=32 or something
Saw2vco2 PW does not have the same PW.Range as Saw1vco2 PW.
Mix.vco1 and Mix.vco2 look the same, and do same thing with PW
Mix PW=0 makes exactly the same Saw, but at PW=127 makes a
harder/sharper edged Saw than the standard Saw1or2 with Edge=127
MixWave with PW=64 Edge=127 looks & sounds similar to a Saw, but...
the sustain&release is more similar to the Square wave "Pulse with PW=64 Edge=127"
something like 50% sustain,decay & release of the Saw
Mlt.Saw is totally another Saw in mono or legato mode, and in Poly its similar to Unison but narrow,
and Mlt.Saw in Unison 32 its a whole new game.
Square-vco1 = Pulse with PW=64, Edge=127
changes drastically when Sync is active and everything at =0
but sounds similar , less hard/sharp edged square sound, but still square
VARI-vco1 only is disponible when Sync is active, with PW=64 sounds like a darker Sqr wave,
like Vco1&2 Pulse=64 but with an added Lowpass filter.
VCO1&2-Pulse,PW=64 has more harmonics, than VARI-vco1, but its basically the same SQR.
Same happens with Mix, it changes when Sync. is active, but basically sounds verry similar "almost the same"
even it looks verry diferent in the scopemeter
SineWave "Pulse with PW=64, Edge=0" has no harmonics
Amp. longest Release in V-Station its way shorter than Yamaha An
Amp. shorter attack & release feels the same
Amp. longest attack is longer in V-Station and Shorter in Yamaha An
the LowPass filter, resonance at full,
at 24dB/oct, is stronger in Yamaha PLG150-An , in V-Station has bumps and holes sweeping in the freq. range
also Yamaha has more harmonics abobe the filter cuttoff
at 12dB/oct thers almost no resonance in the V-Station
= The V-Station liquid filters are modeled after a broken Moog filter.
Yamaha Saw looks basically the same as V-Station saw, but with a bit harder edge in the V-Station.
similar harmonics.
=the V-staion Saw picture its wrong painted, Saw starts from Max. and downs to 0. "positive"
th B-Station filter at -12dB changes Saw polarity, from positive to negative.
the Yamaha.filter goes strong & up to near 20Khz in the Yamaha An and weak & near 16khz in the V-Station!
the B-Station filter at 24dB/oct peak resonance goes near 16.6khz, but at 12dB/oct goes to 4.7khz
= the B-Station 12dB/oct filter its very limited.
the Square is more square in the V-Station than the Yamaha, but not perfect Square.
with the V-Station Filter Over.Drive it becomes near perfect Square.
almost same harmonics.
The V-Station Noise generator looks like White noise.
The Yamaha An Noise generator looks similar to Pink, but not pink. verry analog,
this remembers me the noise generaton in my ex.arp2600
The A1 noise generator its like a white noise + hipass filter
The B-Station noise generator? i cant find it... i guess i need to write to novation support again :)
