Thanks Jeff and Summa,

It just goes to show how incredibly slack I've been. I've had an XP
machine as my main box at home for about 4 years or so, but have never
done any midi work w/ it because I haven't bothered to buy a midi
interface. Before that I was running a win98 box I had built and
using a game port>midi adapter.

Once I pay off my new mac and a new muffler I plan on buying a small
inexpensive interface for the laptop. The m-audio fast track pro can
be had for under $150 or we'll see what ~$200 firewire boxes come down
at NAMM.

I would be surprised if I couldn't get An1xedit to run on XP in a
vmware window on the mac. I'll let you all know how it fares when I
finally get that far.
