Hello Nigel!
i've found the .pdf version of the scanned repair manual, but it's too
huge (8,5 Mo) to go through the E-mail channel. :-(
I found it on a SIEL collector website:
http://home.tiscali.nl/~smeyer/siel/
Maybe you can contact them if they're still active? If not give me a
post adress, i can send you a print of the file. The scan resolution is
not very good but usable, the main board shematics should be printed in A3
Except the famous SSM sound chips the other ICs, transistors, diodes and
so on are "off the shelf" components. I think that the big problem
could be the EPROM if it is now dead: you can find a blank one easily,
but you have to get another one programmed with the SIEL µP software to
make a copy.
The SSM data sheets are available at :
http://www.emulatorarchive.com/Synthesizers/SSM/ssm.htm. Another
manufacturer of these ICs was Curtis (CEM). The ICs themselves can be
found (at usury prices..) by : http://www.synthchips.com/sparespage.html
or
http://www.vintageplanet.nl/head.html
If you sell yours, please contact me, just in case ;-)
Cheers
J.F.
