Before you start, you may want to pick up a NEW CR2450 Battery and
replace it while your at it.
I've got one open now. First off. Get some damp bath towels to lay
the synth upside down on. A quick and diry way to get one damp is to
throw a clean bath towel in the dryer and toss in a clean WET wash
cloth and tumble for a few minutes.
Work in bare feet on a wood floor -- no socks anyway.
Pull the volume knob stright up and off. Lay the Synth down with the
back of the facing you, take the the two dozen or so screws on the
bottom and remove the cover.
The circuit board you are looking for will be on your far left close
to you. Remove the four screws holding down and carfully wiggle it
up and out. Put a hand under to push a little on the volume control
shaft. Be carefull as the LED's need to come up out of their holes.
Flip it over. There is one connector, and a punch down block. It
looks like it is the punch down block where the connections could be
loose. If things look OK, take a pen knife or use the BACK edge of a
razor knife and gently press the wires into the connector notches.
This may do it. While your at it, go over all of the accessable
screws and give them a twist if loose. Many are the ground rail for
the PC boards.
If that does not do it, those leads lead to a Relay Board under the
Main System board. Wires could be loose there on a similar
connector, or there could be bad relays -- not too likely. Still,
most likely a loose connector. Getting under the system board is a
bigger job. Go slowely and don't drop any tools on any thing.
Good Luck...............
