Thanks Jon, but I've discovered that this issue can't be fixed.
Searching through the DX200 discussion list's archive, I found
exchanges covering this topic, which revealed that the pitchbend
wheels can only be used to control the 200 series on MIDI channel 1.
Channels 2 to 16 don't respond to such control messages at all.
I'd set up my AN200 synth part to be controlled on MIDI channel 4
because the Red Sound Systems DarkStar I use alongside it
automatically defaults to channel 1. So that's why the AN200 isn't
responding to my keyboard's pitchbend wheel.
Quite an annoying limitation, I think. Why would anyone program in
such a constraint on user flexibility? It surely wouldn't have cost
Yamaha any more to make the AN200 responsive to pitchbend control data
on all MIDI channels.
I guess I'll have to live with it, though.
