Hello !
if you want to reset your synth (according to what you say i think it's
a good idea ...) , you have to :
1. turn off the power
2. press and ∗hold∗ the "7","8" and "9" buttons while you turn it on
again
3. the screen will then display "Factory set ?"
4. then release all the buttons and you can choose "3" or "9" by
pressing the corresponding button . The "3" loads the 128 factory
presets and the "9" performs a full system reset (including the
presets) . There are others options (partial load of the factory
voices, sort by type ..) but i think that in your case the 3 or 9
are the most relevant options .
For the price : i don't know what are the second hand prices in US but
300$ seems to be a good price if everything is OK . If not you have to
ask for some refund , repair is possible but could be expensive. But it
is only a personal (and french) opinion ... in Europe the average price
is 250 ~ 300€ .
I can send you some patches and a very useful "Voice Setup Guide" in
.pdf file . Try to get the factory handbook when buying your synth,
because programming is not obvious : the knobs and buttons have many
different functions depending on "where you are" in the "control matrix"
on the right side .
For the sounds : you can easily get good E-pianos and organs (the
factory ones are OK) , but this keyboard is much more dedicated to
re-create "vintage synths" sounds . Remember Tangerine Dream , Klaus
Schulze, E.L.P. , J.M. Jarre .... Don't expect realistic grand pianos or
cello sounds !
Have fun playing your synth, i bought mine 2 years ago and it does not
bother me after this time .
Cheers
J.F.
