Subject: [AN1x] Re: An1x sound versus PLG150AN within the Motif ES

I agree with Peter in that you ought to keep the AN1X. However,
sometimes it's fun to be a follower in that most of those who WANT to
be a leader mess things up so badly! You get to sit back and snicker!

Here's a question though...

What the hell kind of audio microscope are your bandmates using?
Really, once in the mix, the sound is the sound. Most listeners won't
bother thinking "if he'd only used the PLG150AN card through a Motif
ES..". Really!

I remember a band I was in a LONG time ago and having the drummer and
bass scrutinize my synth sounds....F-off you Rhythm Primates! (the
drummer went on to be the lead singer of the Dandy Warhols...I guess I
suck)

FYI - I have played bass in half the bands I've been in - respect to
Bass Players....it's just, you better have an American Fender P-bass,
an SWR amp and Sun 8x10 if you want to be in my band because "it's
warmer".

Take Care,

Ed

also. The reason for this inquiry is the one you guessed. I have both
the An1x and the PLG150An, and although the An1x is my board of
choice, the guys in the band are really pushing for the Motif ES. I
use the Motif ES almost strictly for lead sounds, and the An1x does
these sounds so well, but it's almost a third of the ES7's weight, so,
that's why I gravitate to the An1x!!
