[sdiy] Reliable MIDI recording app for PC.. Or my Sonar X3 Pro DAW is not set correctly..

This morning I started a fast MIDI sequence
on my modular and sent it to Sonar connected at the same MIDI connector.
I recorded around 3min of fast MIDI data. Only NoteOn/NoteOff datas
and there was no signs of MIDI lags recorded.
So Sonar is not the problem about my MIDI recorded lags.
I’m suspecting Paper rolls slipering at the end of the song.
The paper that accumulates in the receiving spool
is possibly not enough ‘packed’ and the effect of pulling the paper
make the inner loose paper layers ‘adjust’ in the roll
and keeps the roll from keeping its pace.. creating MIDI lags
when I record.
I’m investigating this option today.

What is that "timing precision"? Is it some quantizing? If yes: can you turn it off? Or at least set it to 1/32 triplet
The quantizing orientates to the internal clock. As your pianorole does not sync to the internal clock (and also does not send a clock to sync sonar to it), this will make all the ritardandi and "in between" notes stumble to the next quantizing mark according to the internal clock.
Also running the sonar at a high tempo will increase the resolution of the MIDI recording.

I thought this could be caused by some kind of timing precision
or ‘Snap’ option selected that should not be..
The set timing was at ¼ in my last MIDI recordings
And maybe should be much higher (like 1/32 Triplet) ?
