That said, it COULD potentially be quite useful and nifty in some other
system where parameters are EITHER set fixed with knobs OR fully remote
controlled by patched CV cables from somewhere.
It could also be used for (audio) signals and their levels/routing, instead
of parameters and control.
Not sure what system that would be, though.
Preferably something where the patched cables could come from anywhere,
since it would otherwise be easier to use switches to select between known
sources.
And something where it's worth throwing money on the Hall/magnet/uC/bespoke
knob tech.
