[sdiy-interim] CMOS 4001A source?

As I recall, the A series was unbuffered and had lower gain and a
much softer transfer function.

The B series is buffered and has much higher gain and a snappier
transfer function. I think they also improved the static protection.

Then there were some problem applications (linear applications?) that
needed the unbuffered version, so they made a U version for
"unbuffered". But that will depend on the manufacturers part number
system. Only the datasheet knows for sure, and don't believe
everything you read in datasheets either. I have some times seen
application circuits in datasheets that just won't work.

I highly recommend the "CMOS Cookbook" to anybody using CMOS.
