Hey Anthony,
The clear banana jack is a great idea! I'd be surprised if you
actually found any though.
I think that you could get jacks cast at a reasonable price.
I've seen banana jack inserts for sale (just the metal part). You
could buy those and have them inserted or cast into custom clear
resin bodies.
You could use cut off pieces of metal tubing too, but the inserts are
less work and come with a soldering terminal on one end.
With any casting job, there is a substantial set up fee, so I think
it would only be worth it if you were getting a bunch (100+ maybe?)
Ultimately, I think you'd be able to get the jacks cheaper than
regular ones.
I think that getting them made would be a piece of cake, My concern
is where do you put the LED? If you want even diffusion of light, I
think you would want it centrally placed?
This isn't an option because of the soldering terminal. ALSO I think
that you would want to coat the shaft of the jack with an opaque
material, ideally something metallic or reflective (silver spray
paint). This may not be absolutely necessary, but it will certainly
improve light distribution. Anyway, this is an additional step that
could add time/money to the process. Just thinking out loud
