[sdiy] transistor lead ID

Howdy,

 i recently aqquired some 2N 128JAN germanium
transistors to attempt to recreate a fuzz face but
there is no wat to tell E,B, or C. all there is is a
red stripe at one of the leades going up the side of
the can Any thoughts?
