Ah, sounds like you just had a socket contact with a little corrosion.
Swap the IC in and out a few times to clean the contacts and you're
set to go. Bad contacts in cable connectors and IC sockets are
probably responsible for a LOT of vintage synth problems. Luckily,
this sort of thing is usually an easy fix (IF you know what to look
for).
