Hi Gino.

The MAD1108  was originally spec'd for the EFM VCF6C - a diode ladder 
VCF. IIRC, according to an old EFM forum, as soon as the pcb had been 
layed out and production runs made, the IC was discontinued.......
The designer, Tom G used  1N4148s instead after that.

If you've got a VCF6C board it'd look very smart with the IC's in 
though :-)
