Sure... best if you can do the design from the start to accomodate the
differences between various mfrs chips... if you know what the differences
are... or what the differences will be if a second-source unit is not yet
available.

Someone on the list (Harry ?) mentioned that the LM13600 and the NJM13600
behaved differently when the max. diff input voltage rating was exceeded
between the OTA inputs... the NJM unit broke down at a lower voltage, while
the LM unit worked fine as a comparator in the original application.

Back in the old days AD sent you an 8-bit dac when you asked for a 558,
while Signetics sent you a quad timer.
