Why not ? Just add a constant voltage to get to the placy you want to.
The great thing with modulars is, that you can patch anything anywhere.

In my first modular, the M100, i thought it would be a good idea to
use -15...15V as control voltages. Later i learned that this is too wide
a range, and when using 1V/oct standard, one does not really need
30Vpp control signals. (if a signal that strong comes in from some
source, like an oscillating filter, you can always attenuate)
Especially with a VCA, you will want to have a point where it is surely
switched off, and it seems better (logically) to have that point at 0V
than at -5V.

In my second modular (M101), i also changed from 4mm Banana jacks
to 6.3mm Jacks, btw. - i had too often to replace the jacks due to having
stacked several plugs into them, and then having someone fall about
the cable and breaking the jack.
