Consider these to be OUTPUT ranges.
Input ranges could easilly be +/- rail voltages without grief, as after all
they are going into a high impedance circuit, with internal dividers etc
dropping levels down to required values (level pots, anyone??). Old Serge
instruments specify a +/- 25V input range.
