and then bend it over the tempco.

Back on topic -
Generally, I find putting the tempco on top the transistor pair so that
it is touching with a good glob of heatsink goop, and keeping the pair
shielded from air drafts works sufficiently well.
If you're using the LM394H (the metal can type) you could also try
putting the tempco under the LM394H so that it touches the white ceramic
substrate base underneath.
