Hi Aaron,
Thomas indeed has a very nice circuit using the 8038. While the
response is linear, he gets all three waves (Tri, Sine, Square) at
+/-5V from 20 to 20KHz. This definitely reduces the suck on the 8038
(especially if you already have some of the chips sitting around
unloved). This schematic will eventually be one of the "Freebies" at
the Magic Smoke site, but we've got so many other things going on that
I'll happily send you the schematics and text if you'd like to use it.
Standard Fair Use / not for profit rules apply to this project. Also,
please credit Thomas Henry, and make sure his name stays on the
schematic (credit where credit is due).
