And tack on to what Greg said, that there seem to be some sensetive chips
on these things.  In the process of trying to clean up I've killed a
processor.  On my cu.imt.net/~sounddoctorin/synthtec page there are a lot
of repair details if you want to read that from ones I've fixed.  I still
have a couple lying around that had strange problems in the digital board
under the keyboard that I haven't had time to get back to. They *can* be
very tough to repair.  Or...now and then you just carefully clean the
battery mess up and they work.  All the stuff in the area is known to fail
including the chip in front of it and the resistors/diodes in the
immediate area.   -Bob
