Depends how you derive the meter level from the audio. If you use a
true RMS level detector with a log output (e.g. THAT 2252) then the 3914
is what you would want.
However, if you are just using some kind of simple abs-value circuit
followed by a peak hold capacitor then the 3915 or 3916 are more suitable.
