I had a, breif, play with an AVR and VOSIM, using 'tables' for the bell 
curve and driving an 8bit DAC.
The problem is that because you need multiple 'bell curves' per cycle of 
audio you need a VERY high sample rate.
The AVR I used was running at 16Mhz, once you had more than 3 or 4 curves 
per cycle there was aliasing all over the place, yucky yucky yucky..

There's a preset on the Triton, I forget what it is, but it's something like 
nose flute or nose chant or something..
I've heard it on some 'binar' (www.binar.co.uk), I'm sure someone knows the 
sound I mean :-)
