> Dunno about Notator, but Cubase crashed really often.
I used an Atari ST for over 12 years. In that time Cubase crashed
perhaps once a year for no reason. It is the most stable piece of
software I have ever used.
Cubase 1.0 was the worst, but by 3.1 it was a rock.
Compared to Windows and DOS applications on my old Compaq 286 and 386
machines the Atari was heaven. I only changed to the PC for music 18
months ago.
Common causes for instability in Cubase were freebie screen savers [I
only found one that worked really well] and the blasted dongle
connections. As well as the usual RAM edge connectors on the STe. This
didn't happen on my machines, but the troublesome ones I used to fix in
school were mostly down to interconnection woes.
If I ever took my old Atari MegaST anywhere else to play, I used a
'dongleless' version.
Never got the hang of Notator.
