Atari means for me: A time when I still made pcb layouts for my diy
projects -
and did them on a computer without hard disk !
Yes, a copy of the whole pcb design software, plus several board projects,
on a
single 3.5" floppy.
(I even designed professional products with this: the first series of MAM
mixers.)
As for crashing, by then it was very stable compared to Windows PCs.
But the floppies had a tendency to go bad after a few years.
And backup meant to copy parts of the floppy into the RAM, insert new floppy
for writing, insert old floppy for reading ...
Not in general, but for me, with 1MB RAM, a single floppy drive, and no HD.
