[sdiy] violet leds?

I bought a bunch of near-UV LEDS (402 nm) from Meredith Instruments:

These are a great deep-purple color that will make fluorescent items  
light up. I'm not sure that they're 3mm dia. though - I've never seen  
short-wavelength LEDs that small.
